What is a Jawzz boil and bite mouthguard?

A Jawzz boil and bite mouthguard is made out of the same material that is used to make our high quality custom mouthguards. These are for the athletes that want ultimate comfort and protection, but can’t afford a custom fit mouthguard. Our main concern is protecting the athlete. We recommend our Jawzz custom fit mouthguard any day of the week over a boil and bite. That being said, our boil and bites are superior to any boil and bite on the market due to the quality of the material used. PolyShoK™ is a proprietary blend of plastic designed specifically for athletic mouthguards. It has the unique properties of being able to form to the mouth at low temperatures.

The result is a soft, comfortable mouthguard that absorbs more destructive force than other athletic mouthguards by transmitting less force to the teeth, jaw and brain.

Follow the directions below on how to fit your Jawzz Boil and Bite and the fit should be super snug and comfortable.

1. Bring water to a boil. Place separate container with cold water nearby.
2. Remove boiling water from heat source and immediately place mouth guard in it for 15 seconds (slightly less time if you wear braces).
3. Remove mouth guard carefully. Dip into cold water for 2 seconds.
4. Moisten lips and place mouth guard in mouth, carefully surrounding all upper teeth (mouth guards should be warm but not hot).
5. Gently bite and push tongue against the roof of the mouth. With strong suction, draw all air and water out of mouth guard. Use fingers to press mouth guard tightly against teeth and gums.
6. Remove the mouth guard from mouth and place in cold water container for 30 seconds to set.
7. Check the fit. If proper fit is not achieved, repeat steps 1-6.
8. After fitting, ONLY IF NECESSARY, carefully trim mouth guard to remove any excess material. Remove material gradually to avoid trimming away the protective features.
9. Do not chew on mouth guard or leave in hot areas. (ex. car, trunk of car, direct sunlight)
