Jawzz, Inc. is a family owned and operated business. Our family has years of experience with many contact sports, such
as amateur boxing, football, field hockey, lacrosse, and wrestling. We have seen many oral injuries and concussions end
athletes careers in an instant.
   
This is where Jawzz comes into play. There had to be something made to help protect these athletes from getting such
injuries. We researched the mouthguard industry and found out the following were available to athletes:
- Stock Mouthguards:
- Bulky
- Ready to be worn
- Standard sizes found at any sporting goods store
- Only stays in place by biting down
- Limits speech and breathing ability
- Wear down quickly, therefore need to be replaced often
- Boil-and-Bite Mouthguards:
- The most used type of mouthguard
- Available in limited sizes
- Prepared by boiling in water and then formed to mouth by the athlete
- Wear quickly and often become too thin to offer adequate protection
- Often cut down too much to cover posterior teeth adequately, therefore increasing their chance of injury, especially concussions
- Vacuum-Formed Mouthguards:
- Expensive
- Only one single layer of protection
- Made from a cast of the athlete's mouth
- Jawzz Pressure Laminate Mouthguards:
- Multiple-layer protection
- Thickness of mouthguard is more efficient at spreading out and lessening impact forces, therefore lessening the severity of injury
